Picto Lab/ Experimenting with images

The PICTO LAB/ EXPERIMENTING WITH IMAGES residency is for emerging photographers whose work explores new forms of photography.

The residency aims to support emerging artists in their creative research involving original, experimental and unusual skills or processes. It is to support a creative and research dynamic that combines the materiality of the image with the primitive practices of photography, thereby continuing to inscribe photographic practice in contemporary art.

Each year, the residency welcomes an artist for three months, during which time they are provided with the resources necessary to produce the creative project for which they were nominated. For this purpose, the artist benefits from the entire production infrastructure of the PICTO laboratories and the support of other organisations associated with the project.

The selected artist receives a grant of €6,000, plus a technical grant of €10,000 from the PICTO laboratories to produce the creation for which they were nominated for their residency and present it.
