So determined, so courageous, so fighting. There are women like that, we don’t know why, we meet and the magic happens. With Juliette, it took us ten years to find each other.
I became a mother and a photographer. To sublimate, reveal, honor, liberate, tell stories about women, such is my leitmotif. For her part, Juliette has been fighting triple negative breast cancer for five years. For her, for us, it was obvious. We had to get together.
Through this competition, she hopes to be able to close a chapter and heal her wound. This photo was supposed to tell the story of the scar she has on her heart and not the one on her body.
She thought she was “born to be a mother”, this phrase resonated so much with her. Illness and heavy treatments involve sacrifices, but this is the most difficult…
“This photo is for you, you the child I will never have. If you had been a girl, Victoire was the first name we would have given you; it would have made sense. »

HE is one of the rare men struck by the unspeakable.
HE embraces the cause of women and men, united in the same fight.
Discretion and modesty gone, HE surrenders to my gaze with courage and strength, shows what is hidden.
Bruised body and soul, marks of inner pain, traces of newfound hope.
HE is a brother, a messenger who came to bear witness to all possibilities.
IT reveals itself like a star which illuminates with its beam the IИ.VISIBLES to make them unique in the eyes of the world.
His name is François.

This is the story of Fannie, this young woman full of joy, pregnant in the middle of Covid, and who learns that she has cancer. She could have given up, resigned herself, felt sorry for herself, but that was not knowing her well.
With her smile, she made a shield to show nothing; of her baby, a struggle to wage. “Alone we go faster, together we go further!” » this became her motto. Fight, heal and smile while waiting for the baby and the healing.
Faced with the often-petrified views of our society with regard to illness, she wanted to show herself without artifice. It was not without modesty and fear that she revealed herself to me with her part of her flayed, patched-up femininity. But I only saw beauty in her, the beauty that so many women no longer dare to show. A prosthesis to stick on, a “clover”-shaped wig to wear, scars to bear, and hope behind this hidden look.
Today, Fannie is cured; she continues the fight by helping others.

I met Laurence during association events. Having been operated on for a cancerous tumor in my breast, I was even more aware of this cause for which I am campaigning. The idea of photographing Laurence germinated in my imagination. I wanted to highlight her solar and radiant side. What struck us both the most about this invisible side of the illness?
Laurence immediately accepted the idea of the Estée Lauder competition. She came to the studio accompanied by her mother, father, daughter and friends. I immediately felt the desire that motivated her. I heard the prayer whispered in the ears of her people.
The message then became clear: “Everything is fine, don’t worry. Accept this illness as I accepted it myself, because it is now part of me. She gave me an unexpected gift: the ability to love life even more! »
As I took the photos, I saw faces relax and shed tears.
