“Xian” unveils modern and contemporary Chinese memory by revealing images that function as reminders against oblivion, images that can simply be removed from their pharmaceutical display cabinets. “Xian” is the fifth publication by Thomas Sauvin – a collector since 2006 – and not only refers to the thread of the designer, but also the thread of a story. One can freely reshape the plot by opening the small, folded envelopes inside which, perhaps, other fragments of life will eventually fade away. Handmade book, consisting of fifty-nine folded black paper boxes, 25.5 x 40.5 cm.
Edition of 200 copies.
